Welcome to the Jungle

Last night was our ward Halloween party and I am sad to report that only a handful of people knew who we were dressed up as. We decided that our ward is either a.) too pure b.)too young or c.)too old. Everyone thought I was a biker and David was a rocker. Well they were kind of close with David, he wasn't just any rocker though, we dressed up as Slash and Axl from Guns and Roses. We had a blast putting our costumes together. The funniest part was when I gathered up all my quarters and hit the junk machines for some "bling". Since I had pocketfuls of quarters I left my purse at home. This meant that I had to carry all the plastic bubbles in my coat pockets. I decided to open the containers right there to make room....instead I just looked a little too eager for my new jewls. Let's just say I got some strange looks from mothers and jealous looks from the kiddos. Anyway we had a fun time!

NKOTB

Oh how I wish I could have been at this concert tonight! I've known about it for months but sadly did not purchase tickets...and Santa didn't bring any early presents either. I still have the fanny pack and buttons from my childhood years, maybe one of these days I'll get to sport them to a real concert but for now I'll just rock out to "Please Don't Go Girl" on my ipod.

Sweetest day my bum....

I totally think this whole "sweetest day" holiday is a complete joke. It's just one more excuse for people to become full on food and wasted on booze. We have this entertainment book and since I got off work early we decided to make the drive up to Hartford to try a new restaurant (since it was a buy one get one deal) anyway after waiting for a table (which there were like 10 open ones but oh no we waited a good 15minutes) we hand them our little coupon only to find out that they don't accept them on holidays and well since "sweetest day" is a national holiday and all they wouldn't budge on giving us the discount. Uh the nerve. To make it worse I order a sandwich with no mayo and when they brought it out the fries were missing.

I respond -"oh I thought fries came with this."
crazy restaurant lady -"yeah you said you didn't want fries"
David- "no she said no mayo...not no fries"
crazy lady- "oh I thought it was no fries"

oh well atleast there was a nasty lady who kept applying layers and layers of makeup on during her meal.

I like to move it move it

Well I'm am officially done with my aerobic instructor training course at the Wisconsin Athletic Club. I have always wanted to be able to teach aerobics, I'm just drawn to it and want to share my passion with others I guess! I had such a blast learning how to teach step and actually being able to instruct others. Now I get to enjoy the fun job search process...and finding some leg warmers and sweat bands!!!! Move over Richie!!!

Elegant Farmer

Holy moly it's been a little on the warm side here, I went for a jog this morning and needed to swap my pants for some shorts! Yeah I'm sure that won't last long! Since it was in the 80's on Saturday (and I didn't work) we headed down to the Elegant Farmer to...well...not pick apples but just to see what all the talk was about. We felt silly on various levels...

a.) we were the only ones without kids
b.) I was pretty much the only one wearing a sweatshirt
c.) we took the hayride up to pick apples but didn't end up picking apples or pumpkins (we heard the crop wasn't that great this year, plus we didn't want to pay for it)I know I know who goes to an apple farm and doesn't pick apples? Believe me they are one of my favorite foods so we have plenty!!!
d.) walked around the store/food area but didn't end up buying any food...well I take that back we bought some fab popcorn seasoning and a carmel apple pie baked in a paper bag. We'll be sure to get that again:)

I'm totally making us sound like cheapskates but I like to think of it as being "wise". hum...maybe not. Overall it was fun to experience and nice to see the fall colors.

Here I am sportin' (more like guarding)the apple pie!

well it's about time

DAVID AND MY PARENTS COME TODAY!!!!!!

I have been all alone since Tuesday. Boo. David was lucky enough to go to BYU to recruite, however I was not so lucky to be able to go. I did however overcome a MAJOR battle in my life. This was the FIRST time EVER that I was alone. EVER. I've always had roomies, siblings, friends, David etc. so this was a big change. Kudos to me for being such a big girl (and I didn't even sleep with the lights on!)

My parents are also coming today which means that I've been cleanin', baking, etc. etc. This will be my dad's first time in Chicago so we're up for suggestions!

More to come.....
