WOWZAA!!

Well we are now in COLORADO!!!! Yes folks we decided to DRIVE the 20 hour trip to spend Christmas with the fam. David calculated everything from gas, food, hotel etc. to see how much it would cost to drive vs. fly. Keep in mind the closest airport is like 4 hours away. Anyway we left yesterday after school and the roads were pretty good (major storm a-comin') so David decided that hey we might as well just keep driving through the night so we did the white trash thing and slept and hour here or there in our car. Ok actually I pretty much slept the whole way (even though I had intentions of knitting a scarf) and Dave drove the whole way (he can't sleep in a moving car....lucky for me!) Once we hit WY the weather Gods decided to put an end to our happiness. There were semis off the road and about an hour outside of our town we were informed that the road was closed due to a head-on with two semis. We bought a new (used) car in the summer and we were talking about how nice it is to have a reliable car. The weather Gods must have talked to the car Gods because as we were driving from his house to my parents house the car decided to die....and then get stuck! Luckily we were close to my cousins and so we had a warm place to vent!!! It looks like some water got in with the gas....don't quote me on that though! Hopefully everything will be ship-shape tomorrow! Anyway we are here now and after a nice long toothbrushin' and shower we are VERY excited to see everyone. I just love Christmas! Merry Christmas!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Happy 84th Birthday Bob! I love you! I am ashamed to admit this but I thought his birthday was on the 13th and I was all ready for it and then I looked and it was today. I guess I'll go celebrate (maybe I'll just count the oreos I had earlier as my celebration!) anyway we miss you Bob.

Bring on the snow!!!!

This morning when I was getting ready I was thinking about how tired I was and how I just want to sleep when lo and behold the phone rings. It was my mentor teacher informing me that school was cancelled due to the snow. Could this be real???? A free day off??? Yes folks it was true I had the whole glorious day to due as I pleased! To start it off I decided to crawl back in bed....and stayed there until 10:00. Then off to the gym (which is remodeled and I totally love it!), clean off snowy car, then to Pick n' Save for some ingredients for my holiday baking, clean off snowy car again, get a phone call from David saying that work was also cancelled, meet Dave at the mall, try to secretly buy Christmas presents for David with David, come home, blog, wrap Christmas presents, begin laundry, dishes, sweeping, oh yeah and making chocolate covered pretzels....yummy! Man I could really get used to this staying at home stuff. The only downfall is that I have a runny nose (rhinorrhea for all you medical buffs!) so I couldn't enjoy myself as much....that's why I was sleeping until 10:00. Oh how sad is this when I first heard that I didn't have to go into school my immediate thought was "YES I CAN WATCH THE PRICE IS RIGHT!!!" then I remembered that Bob is no longer on and it is pointless to watch and I got really sad. Anyway all in all it was a great day, the best part is is that the school makes up "snow days" in June and I will no longer be there so....FREE DAY FOR ME!!! Well I only have 5 hours of this day left so I better make it count!

Go away winter!

Ok it is beyond freezing...in my opinion. This is just pathetic because this isn't even as bad as it is going to be. Everyone is like "oh you're from Colorado you should be used to the winter snow." Well when I was in Colorado I wasn't the one paying the heat bill and then when I lived in Utah (which is extremely warm compared to this) I didn't have to wake up at 5:00 am and trot through the snow to my snow-covered car! Oh correct me if I'm wrong but shouldn't the air conditioning be turned off during the month of December??? Yeah my school disagrees. Anyway enough complaining!

Only 8 more days until I graduate! But....27 school days still. However that does include library/test/video days so it's pretty much smooth sailing from here on out! I had my last evaluation today, which I don't mean to toot my own horn but....toot toot. It's just so nice to see the light and the end of the tunnel!
