More than a cupcake

Yes folks that's right....and I'm not talking about expected snow storms or anything of that sort. David and I are expecting our own lil' rugrat in October! We are so thrilled....and so Hollywood I might add! I am about 12 weeks along and feel AMAZING! I'm still running 3-6 miles every other day (doc gave the thumbs up) and haven't felt sick once. I guess an easy first trimester must mean a hard delivery right??? We just feel so blessed at this time and are grateful for the wonderful examples of friends and family (that's you!) and hope that you'll give us some pointers on what in the world we got ourselves into! It was fun that Easter was so early this year, we mailed out Easter "boxes" to our families with pink/blue candy and eggs that held the news inside. We just wish that we lived closer to everyone. Anyway we just wanted to share the news with the whole world now. Oh and don't worry I didn't eat all of these cupcakes by myself :)

Easter regrets

When my sister was 16 she ran over a bunny the night before Easter and so somehow that means that I don't get Easter baskets anymore....with that being said David and I did not have any Easter candy this year! Gasp! Well unless he had some without me knowing! We're trying to save money (and calories) so I nixed the whole idea....which later regretted! I decided to hit up the local Pick n' Save for some sweet deals on candy yesterday only to find that every shelf was empty!!! I guess that's a sign I should just eat fruit and veggies!

Anyway we had a great Easter, I gave the sharing time lesson in church, we had a fab dinner with friends. Oh and to top it off the Lees GAVE us two of our favorite movies. Mean Girls...seriously I have every line stored in the memory bank, and Never Ending Story I & II. What could be better??? Um actually an Easter without snow could have been better but that's besides the point.

cupcake craze

Well I am in my 3rd week of my cake decorating class which should really be called cake eating class. I think I've gained about 10 pounds. It's really bad because I'll mess up on a cake or something so I can't possibly give it to anyone so I end up just eating the whole thing, then I make an actual cake and then decide that I'd rather eat it then give it away. It's going to be a blessing when this class is over! Anyway here are some cupcakes that I made yesterday. Nothing too fancy, but I'm having fun so I guess that's all that matters!

Yes I am alive!

Well I'm not sure why I haven't blogged in awhile but here goes nothin'. Last Saturday we went with some friends to the "Domes" which are pretty much 3 domes that are filled with plants and flowers and what not. We only got to go into the "desert" and "tropical" domes because the other one was closed. It was pretty interesting because they were having this like hippy-tree hugging cleansing fair thing going on. There were these little stations set up around the domes where people could by "healing oils" and get a message with special miracle beans or something. Yeah we passed on that. It was just nice to be in a warm place and remember what flowers look like! Since it was pretty humid in there I decided to not post the picture of David and I due to the fact that my makeup melted off! Oh and to end the trip we went to Chili's....all in all a great day!

On Wednesday we went with a bunch of Kohls/BYU grads to the Jazz/Bucks game. Sure we had the nosebleed seats but it was still really fun. Just a typical game....we're ahead....they are ahead...too close for comfort....we finally pulled out with a win so that made the car ride home much more enjoyable! I don't know about you but I'm excited that it's FRIDAY!!!

Weekend, Wilton, Whatever

Not a whole lot has been happening here, just trying to stay warm...only 6 more weeks until I leave for sunny Arizona and I CAN'T WAIT!!! Anyway this weekend we planned on skiing but the snow was a little too wet so we just bummed around the house. Friday night was girls night and we had the most annoying waitress I have EVER seen in my life. She had a fake accent that seemed to get worse as the night we on but it's okay because the food made up for it. Sunday I taught my primary class and they were actually REALLY good....the trick is to have a variety of activities I decided. A little search under their chairs, a game, story, song, coloring activity. It's funny because I spend more time preparing for the Sunday lesson than I ever did for student teaching, however I'm really proud that I graduated! So if there are any suggestions out there I'm all ears!

Last night we went and saw "Fool's Gold" it was pretty good...a little far-fetched but whatev.

Today I started my Wilton cake decorating class at Michaels. It's funny because there is only one other girl in the class and she is a model so I'm not really sure why she is in the class. I'm here to learn how to make a cake so I can eat it but I'm stumped on why she joined! Anyway we'll see how well I do. Here are some of my supplies...I'm baking a cake in the oven right as we speak/read/write. Well happy Tuesday!
