a whole new world

The 21st was our 6 year anniversary....I swear we just had one like a month ago! Anyway we had a free pass to the Science and Industry museum in Chicago so we scooted on over that way on Saturday. Grant did SO great and absolutely loved looking around at everything, this picture pretty much sums it up.

He slept in the stroller for a little while but mainly just wanted to be checking out all the fun things. He's just testing out what he wants to be when he grows up....farmer, astronaut...endless possibilities!

wrong side of the bed

So I just went in to check on the little sleep talker and he had managed to spin himself all the way around his crib so he was facing a new direction...no wonder he was so excited to talk about his new view!

ugh!

Don't you love it when you write a really long e-mail and then it doesn't go through so you get to re-write it and you are kind of grumpy sounding in it? Love it! Thank goodness it happens all the time to me:).....speaking of things I love......the sound of Grant awake while he should be asleep. Yep I love listening to crying (actually he's just "talking" so it is kind of cute but still) after 30 minutes of sleep. Love it!!!

4 months!

Guess who is 4 months old? I'm a few days late with this, we went to the doctor today and I wanted all his stats. Since he did such a great job with his 2 month shots we told him he was lucky enough to go back for 4 month ones today! What kind parents huh? He did fine and now his little limp body is snoozin'. We love you baby G!

*12 lbs even...our little lightweight
*25 in long-not quite sure where his height is coming from but hey we'll take it!

*he loves having his hands in his mouth
*still sleeps great in his crib at night and likes the swing for naps
*gives big smiles in the mirror and bath
*holds his right ear while sucking on his left hand/arm to comfort him at night
*likes to look around at everything and seems to be studying objects a lot

gotta clean my floors.....

Well it's official, Grant has mastered rolling over. Darn it now I have to be a responsible mother. He's rolled over a few times before and actually last night he rolled and was SO proud of himself. Anyway I never really wanted to count it until he could do it like more than once in a day. This morning while I was out on a run he rolled like 4 times and has not stopped since! I've been waiting for this day and now that it's here I kind of wish he was back to being a little slug...ok not really but my worry free days are coming to an end now:)

a few of my favorite things.......

Grant has branched out to looking/liking other things besides his swing, watching me workout/cook/clean and sucking on his fingers. I know by the look of these pictures it doesn't seem like he is having fun but trust me he is happy as can be!
watching dad play the guitar...we're teaching him by osmosis;)

favorite way to pass time, the beloved fingers.....sigh
Grant loves his little cow. It's so cute because I'll be driving and just hear him shaking it around and giving little squeals. After awhile of driving he finally gets tired but still keeps a death grip on it while he sleeps.
And who can forget the best part of the day...BATH TIME!!!

Field of Dreams

On our way back from CO (yes like a month ago...) we decided to stop in Iowa and visit the location where "Field of Dreams" was filmed. I had only seen the movie like once so I probably wasn't the most excited person there but it was still really cool...and really pretty. David was in heaven! You can go play ball on the field and everything, it's pretty neat though because it's out in the middle of nowhere and the owners have kept it just the same. We were suckers and bought the movie at the gift shop and of course watched it the next day...and of course I cried my eyes out!

pray for me

I can't even begin to describe how much I love my little baby boy, he constantly smiles at me and just loves to play all day. However there is one little "quirk" of his that I just can't come to terms with. This kid HATES lettuce. If I wasn't there to see it I would have a hard time believing he is mine. I have some seriously amazing salad recipes that I have had to swear off for awhile and it's killing me. I was thinking about how everytime he's had some lettuce there has also been other factors...2 month shots, vacations, no nap etc. etc. So today I'm going to just go for it! I have been making sure that all the conditions are right. He's changed, burped, well rested, etc. and as soon as David walks through the door we are off to get us a sandwich with some lettuce on it...I mean I can't just dive right into a Bajio salad as much as I would love to do that! Anyway I need to see for myself if it really is lettuce that is upsetting him or if there are other things to it. Wish us luck!!! 3 hours.....

p.s. is this child abuse?
