are we in the wrong?

Is it bad to admit that we were really excited that church was cancelled today??? Do I dare say that? Well it is true, with the weather being like 30 below and the piles and piles of snow they decided to call off church. Don't get me wrong I always look forward to Sunday and consider it to be one of my favorite days but today I was supposed to teach YW and just didn't feel prepared so you could say I was a little relieved when church was called off. There is always that awkward phone call where you are supposed to be all bummed and you ask in your most serious and sad voice if church really is cancelled, I mean you don't want people to know you are looking forward to literally a day of rest but you also can't control your emotions! Oh stop judging me I know you all feel the same way, and don't fret there was plenty of scripture reading, visiting of the elderly, letter writing (along with watching Wayne's World 2 and snippets of Pee Wee's Big Adventure) and journaling so I feel I got a good dose of spirituality today. Let's just hope it clears up by tomorrow so we can have an enjoyable 15+ hour drive home!!!

Absolutely not. If you have to put up with all that snow and frigidity, you might as well get to stay home all cozied up.

Honestly, I would have been excited about it if we hadn't already been planing on staying home with sick kids. That little snag really put a damper on the day...

Not at all. I was kind of hoping they would cancel ours. Then I wouldn't feel bad about leaving Carter home with sick Mike and Samantha just because I didn't want to take him out in the cold. You shouldn't have to risk death to go to church! Having said that, I thouroughly enjoyed church today all by myself.

I always look to Pee Wee's Big Adventure for spiritual insight!
It's ok to enjoy a day of rest at home when it's that cold.

Hope you have a safe trip to CO! Wish we could see you. Merry Christmas...and think, next year your little man will be the life of the party!

I'm surprised with both of you having your dads as Bishops!!! Looking forward to seeing all of you soon. Our house has been too quiet.

Heck no! Anyone who says their disappointed when Church is cancelled due to snow is lying! (at least that's what I'll tell myself, because I would have been excited.) We have at least a foot and a half on the ground and church is still on as usual...
