This past week I spent visiting my family in Phx and Vegas. I have always been one to make plans, especially when on vacation. I called my sister in advance to see what was on the agenda of where we were going to eat, shop etc. so I could plan out my outfits, how much money to bring and what not. Anyway I had imagined this wonderful trip of getting a beautiful tan, having the ever so popular missionary experience on the airplane, watching dvds on the ride to Vegas, getting a perfect score on bowling, walking up and down the strip, winning the jackpot at the penny slots etc.
Well as it usually does nothing went as planned. Both AZ and Vegas were windy, I slept pretty much the whole car ride, my bowling score--well lets just say I wish we would have put up the bumpers, the strip was too busy to walk down and I walked away from my penny slot (at 1:00 in the morning) empty handed. With all that being said I HAD THE BEST TIME! This trip made me realize that it doesn't matter what we do just as long as we are with the people that we love. Seeing my mom and sisters got me so excited for motherhood. I just felt so blessed to be able to spend time with them just relaxing and having fun. Sometimes I just have to remind myself that everything will work out...usually better than I planned!

Hey Jodee, I'm so glad you had fun on your trip! Sometimes lack of planning is actually the best part!
Sorry the bowling and the slots didn't go better and the wind, well that was no fun. But it was nice just everyone hanging out, as you know most of the time we never have a very good plan, unless I make an agenda and hand it out to everyone like I had to do when we went to Boston (then, I had to deal with everyone making fun of my binder with maps and schedules, but we did manage to see lots of things.)
You did make some really good milkshakes which was fun.
Last night an older guy came to running club and we got to talking, turns out he grew up in Butler and went to high school over where you did your student teaching. I guess it is kind of a small world.
what a great post jod. glad everything turned out perfect!
Jodee- your are so funny. You and Randa are so organized, it is such a talent. One that I totally wish I had. I should hire you gals for a day to come and do some serious organization to all my closets. They are nasty! Hope your feeling good.
I'm glad you had fun and enjoyed your family! I bet Dave missed you. (He didn't go...right?)
Isn't it crazy that when your pregnant even the wost days can be the best and also the best days can be the worst (that is when your about to POP!). Just in general life becomes so much more nmeaningfull when you are creating a new life. Glad you had fun!
