David's parents have been in town for the last week and Grant has been trying to show them a good time. We went down to the Jelly Belly factory one day...I swear this poor kids head is going to roll right off.
We also went on a Sprecher brewery tour and down to Chicago for a couple of days.
Grant loved his first road trip and hotel stay! He has been sleeping so well (yes I realize I just jinxed myself) and was great the entire time!
After all the fun we've had his favorite thing is still snuggling up with his Grandma, he won't know what to do when he's stuck with just me all day again!

Blitz Bread
1 1/2 cups (12 ounces) warm water
3 tablespoons (1 1/4 ounces) olive oil (plus additional for drizzling)
1 1/4 teaspoons salt
3 1/2 cups (14 ¾ ounces) all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon instant yeast
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
3 teaspoons dried herbs (I have an herb medley of oregano, basil, parsley and rosemary that I use)
dried herbs for sprinkling
1) Lightly grease a 9" x 13" pan, and drizzle 1 to 2 tablespoons olive oil in the bottom.
2) Combine all of the ingredients, except the dried herbs for sprinkling, and beat at high speed with an electric mixer for 60 seconds.
3) Scoop the sticky batter into the prepared pan, cover the pan, and let it rise at room temperature for 60 minutes, till it is puffy.
4) While the dough is rising, preheat the oven to 375°F.
5) Gently poke the dough all over with your index finger.
6) Drizzle it lightly with olive oil, and sprinkle with the dried herbs of your choice, if desired.
7) Bake the bread till it’s golden brown, 35 to 40 minutes.
8) Remove it from the oven, wait 5 minutes, then turn it out of the pan onto a rack. Serve warm or at room temperature.
To make cheese-stuffed bread: Add 1 cup crumbled feta cheese to the dough after it's been kneaded for 60 seconds.

Happy Mother's Day!
This day has a whole new meaning to me now! I have such a deeper appreciation for my own mother and mother in-law now that I'm in the hot seat! It really is the most amazing calling and I love that I have such great examples in my life.
Grant went to church for the first time today and did really well. He was all bright eyed during sacrament meeting (which is more than I can say for some) and then slept through Sunday school (he's a fast learner) and then was a little shy in front of the YW. I loved having him there and it just felt so nice to sit there as a family for the first time.
We tried really hard to get some good pictures but I think we were all a little tuckered out...I wanted to get a shot of his "Sunday best" but he wasn't having it!

2 weeks
We started the day off by going to the doctor (again) for Grant's 2 week physical, then since we were ready for the day we hit the mall and then he crashed for a much deserved nap! He is such a great baby and I love that I am able to play with him all day!
Weight: 7 lbs 4.5 oz---14%
Height: 20.5---43%
Head circumference 36.3---33%
we're glad he is gaining weight, we were having to wake him up for extra feedings but now he can just continue to sleep through the night....and so can we!
