Sweet Sounds

We just got back from listening to the heartbeat!!! It took him forever to find it, but eventually we heard this quiet little thump, thump, thump, thump. It was exciting, however it still hasn't REALLY set in that we're expecting. I thought for sure this would help, and it did a little, but I think once I start buying real maternity clothes and when we find out the sex of the baby it will really hit me. It's such a fun time for us right now though! The heartbeat was at 150 which made me feel good because I was a little worried that it would be too high. Anyway that's whats new in the Luke household!

I remember how exciting that was the first time. And it was exciting at every visit when they checked it. One of the FEW things I miss about being pregnant!

I'm opposite than Kat...that's one of the MANY things I miss about being pregnant. How wonderful. Hopefully your doctor will let you hear it each time. I loved it! :)

That's fun! How exciting! Congratulations, by the way. I'm not sure I commented on your previous post. I know I bonded with Audrey when I heard her heartbeat. All mothers bond with their child at different points. You probably won't fully grasp that you're having a baby until you have the baby in your arms. It's surreal to me every time until I actually get to hold my baby.

Isn't it amazing! Hearing the heartbeat for the first time is such a good memory! I'm so excited for you! It wasn't until I was about 16 weeks and I first felt something move that it really sunk in for me. And then at our 20 week ultrasound, that's when it REALLY became real. So much fun!

oh how fun...i remember when we first heard the heartbeat it was emotional...for both of us! although they also did an ultrasound so that helped. when you can actually see and feel the baby it makes it all that much more real! but i dont think it will actually sink in until you actually have the baby :)

That's so awesome! Hearing the baby...then in awhile you'll feel the baby....and after that you'll see the baby (ultrasound and then for real)....Reality doesn't hit for quite awhile, but all those little steps help! :)

That's awesome! I remember Remington's heart beat was always steady at 160bpm. Except when I broke my ankle...down to 140bpm. You'll feel more pregnant when you start wearing maternity clothes and other people can see that you're expecting. At least that helped me when other people "saw" the bump. We're so excited for you guys. Can't wait to hear more!
