Weekend, Wilton, Whatever

Not a whole lot has been happening here, just trying to stay warm...only 6 more weeks until I leave for sunny Arizona and I CAN'T WAIT!!! Anyway this weekend we planned on skiing but the snow was a little too wet so we just bummed around the house. Friday night was girls night and we had the most annoying waitress I have EVER seen in my life. She had a fake accent that seemed to get worse as the night we on but it's okay because the food made up for it. Sunday I taught my primary class and they were actually REALLY good....the trick is to have a variety of activities I decided. A little search under their chairs, a game, story, song, coloring activity. It's funny because I spend more time preparing for the Sunday lesson than I ever did for student teaching, however I'm really proud that I graduated! So if there are any suggestions out there I'm all ears!

Last night we went and saw "Fool's Gold" it was pretty good...a little far-fetched but whatev.

Today I started my Wilton cake decorating class at Michaels. It's funny because there is only one other girl in the class and she is a model so I'm not really sure why she is in the class. I'm here to learn how to make a cake so I can eat it but I'm stumped on why she joined! Anyway we'll see how well I do. Here are some of my supplies...I'm baking a cake in the oven right as we speak/read/write. Well happy Tuesday!

Huh. The annoying waitress was probably my friend Jen from high school that used a fake name and had a fake accent anytime we were in public. She thought it was hilarious, but she was the only one. Have you checked out sugardoodle.net for primary ideas? I LOVE that website and we use it every week to plan our lessons.

I agree 100% about the waitress & the funny thing is...Jenny's husband heard a radio DJ talking about her and her "texas sippin' sticks" on the radio the other day...pretty funny! The Wilton class is great - is Susan your instructor?

Cake decorating and me have had a tenuous relationship. It started with a stressful job of decorating cakes at Baskin Robbins with no training and ended with an N'Sync sheet cake where I was supposed to draw a realistic picture of the band in icing--not good.

you need to frame your diploma and stick somewhere for everyone to see! Mine is buried in a box somewhere and I really need to get it out! I was so excited when that thing came in the mail. It's just a piece of paper, but I felt quite proud of it! what age primary do you teach? I teach CTR 6 and they can be a handful. They listen pretty well, but always have their fingers up their noses and I get really grossed out.
