watch me grow

Ok you asked for it! Prego pics galore! I just had my 25 week check up and I'm happy to report that everything is lookin' or should I say cookin' good. He is moving around a lot which makes things so fun! I know I still have awhile but I am really going to miss being pregnant! Besides the constant "teen skin" I love love love it! It's also the best excuse for not running fast, lifting hard, sleeping, eating whatever, wearing ugly clothes etc. so I think that's what I'll miss the most! Anyway here's me!

10 weeks! And so the bump begins!

17 weeks! And so it continues!

20 weeks! Getting bigger by the day!

25 weeks! Yikes...it's gonna blow!

Man oh man where to start. We had such a fun Christmas this year, it's crazy to think this was our last one just the two of us. It still hasn't quite hit me that we'll be parents but anyway that doesn't have anything to do with our trip....here are some highlights that I hope to remember.

*smooth roads the whole way there AND back. I'm still wondering how we got so lucky!
*sleeping in the car because we are cheap-o
*my dad going to the ER....nothing major but still yucky for him. (sorry about all of that dad, wish you could have felt better during your "vacation")
*watching David and his dad put a marble racer together for like 6 hours
*watching movies with the Luke girls
*new pjs
*listening to Kelsie play the piano
*listening to David play his guitar
*attending church and seeing old friends
*going to Brandy's bridal shower
*watching all the kiddos open their presents
*having the climate change make my face breakout even worse than normal....oh wait that wasn't a highlight!
*Jordan getting an elk, which meant that we stayed a little longer!
*reading The Christmas Sweater....I was so proud of myself for reading a book...only to find out Dave's g-ma read like 5 during her stay. Next year Jodee. Next year.
*rushing to get back to turn the rental car in, only to find the place was closed!
*many many trips to Wal-Mart and K-Mart...I swear I didn't know a single soul there...and I call Craig home. tisk tisk.

-Grandma helping Jarren with his new toy-

I know I am leaving out SO many key points but my brain is a little tired right now so maybe later. Anyway it was so wonderful to be with all of our family and to reflect on how lucky and blessed we truly are.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

are we in the wrong?

Is it bad to admit that we were really excited that church was cancelled today??? Do I dare say that? Well it is true, with the weather being like 30 below and the piles and piles of snow they decided to call off church. Don't get me wrong I always look forward to Sunday and consider it to be one of my favorite days but today I was supposed to teach YW and just didn't feel prepared so you could say I was a little relieved when church was called off. There is always that awkward phone call where you are supposed to be all bummed and you ask in your most serious and sad voice if church really is cancelled, I mean you don't want people to know you are looking forward to literally a day of rest but you also can't control your emotions! Oh stop judging me I know you all feel the same way, and don't fret there was plenty of scripture reading, visiting of the elderly, letter writing (along with watching Wayne's World 2 and snippets of Pee Wee's Big Adventure) and journaling so I feel I got a good dose of spirituality today. Let's just hope it clears up by tomorrow so we can have an enjoyable 15+ hour drive home!!!

sheesh fatty!

Last night was freezing cold in our apt so I did the logical thing and sat on my hands during our movie. When I got up it felt like my wrist had been busted into a bazillion pieces! I thought maybe it just needed to wake up and in a little while it would be fine. Hours past and I finally went to bed, when I woke up the darn thing still hurt! I kind of want to go get it checked out but I hesitate explaining to my doctor that my lard-o pregnant body smashed it's own hand!!! Sigh!

first time for everything

This Thanksgiving was the first time that we stayed by our lonesome selves (which made me so thankful for good friends and family). It was different not having everyone around but we tried our best to make it a fun holiday. It's probably best that we had dinner just the two if us because our meal was basically all veggies and some low fat/low sugar variation that most people wouldn't really enjoy (which makes me thankful David is so kind about my "cooking") I had my first attempt at making a pumpkin pie (with gingersnap crust!) and making whole wheat rolls from scratch. It was fun to try new recipes. After dinner we just watched movies (we can never watch Home Alone too much)and relaxed in our festive house. This was the first year our decorations were up like Nov. 16th!!!

Friday night our cute little town put on a parade. This was the first time that we had seen it (not sure what we did last year) I don't know what was going on with me but I just felt like bawling the WHOLE time. Before it started I just sat in the car listening to Christmas music (which I am thankful for!) and watched all the friends and family outside and it got me so excited for Christmas. Once the parade started the water works just came on....there were all these old people in the parade that you know were having the time of their life and all these cute little cheerleaders and boy scouts etc. etc. We even had the Milwaukee Brewers Sausages in our parade, impressive eh??? Anyway it was a fun holiday this year!
